Trust
Trust is one of the most popular apps for safely buying and storing bitcoin. It’s easy to use, and the whole process is simple. While most purchases are completed within minutes, occasional delays may occur. For this reason, we highly recommend setting up your wallet and purchasing the required bitcoins before hiring our service in order to avoid any potential delays with the payment later on.
1 Download the app
Start by downloading and installing the Trust app on your phone. You can find it in the official iOS or Android store under the name "Trust: Crypto & Bitcoin Wallet", or simply click the appropriate image below:
2 Set up your wallet
Once the app is installed, it’s time to set up your wallet.
To get started, launch the app and tap on "Create a new wallet".
You'll be prompted to create a 6-digit numeric passcode. Choose a secure passcode and make sure to remember it. We strongly recommend writing it down in a safe place, like a note or a piece of paper, just in case. This passcode secures your wallet, which will store real money, so please take this step seriously to avoid any potential loss.
After setting your passcode, you'll be given two options to create your wallet: Secret Phrase or Swift. You can choose either, but we recommend selecting "Secret Phrase" for the highest level of security.
The app will ask if you’d like to back up your secret phrase. This backup is extremely important if you ever uninstall the app and reinstall it later and want to restore the access to your wallet, or if you forget your passcode. You can skip this step as long as you keep the app installed and remember your passcode.
And that's it! Your wallet is now successfully created and ready to use.
3 Buying bitcoin
It is important to note that bitcoin purchases through Trust are provided by private companies that charge a 5% commission. This means you will receive bitcoin worth 5% less than the amount you pay. For this reason, to purchase the correct amount of bitcoin, you will need to add 5% to your intended purchase. If you're unsure how to calculate this, simply multiply the amount you wish to buy by 1.05, and the result will reflect the total cost, including the commission.
Now that your wallet is set up, follow these steps to buy bitcoin:
- Open the app and tap the "Buy" icon.
- Select "BTC" (Bitcoin) from the list of available cryptocurrencies.
- Enter the amount you want to spend and choose your payment method.
- Follow the prompts to complete your purchase. Once the purchase is completed, your bitcoin will be credited to your Trust Wallet, and your balance will appear in the app.
On some occasions, you may be asked to complete an identity verification when purchasing bitcoin. While this doesn’t always occur and there are no set rules to determine if it will happen to you, it remains a possibility. If verification is required, there is no need for concern. These companies are legally registered and regulated, and any information you provide will be protected by privacy laws. The purpose of this verification is to ensure that you are making the bitcoin purchase with your own credit/debit card or bank account, as fraudulent transactions with stolen cards are common.
