LibertyX
LibertyX is the largest network of Bitcoin ATMs, cashiers, and debit kiosks in the United States. Before starting, make sure there is at least one LibertyX location in your city or within reasonable distance. We also recommend purchasing the Bitcoins and having them ready before requesting our service. This helps avoid issues such as a machine being out of service, a store being closed, or any other unexpected situation. LibertyX locations are usually reliable, but it is always best to be prepared.
1 Find a location
First, you need to find a LibertyX ATM or Point of Sale near your home or somewhere you can easily reach. This is an in-person Bitcoin purchase. You must pay using either a debit card or cash, depending on the location’s options. Credit cards are not accepted, and the purchase cannot be done online.
To search for a nearby location, download the LibertyX app from your phone’s app store, or click one of the images below:
Once the app is installed, open it and tap "Find locations".
After the search, you will see a list of all available places. Each result shows:
- The name of the store or point of sale.
- Its address.
- A label showing which payment method is accepted: "Debit", "Cash", or both.
If there is no location near you or within reachable distance, then unfortunately you won’t be able to use LibertyX. In that case, go back to the Bitcoin guide and choose another option.
If you do find at least one suitable location, you now know where to buy Bitcoin. Continue reading to learn how to complete the purchase.
2 Create a wallet
Before buying Bitcoin with LibertyX, you need a Bitcoin wallet. This is the digital wallet where LibertyX will send your Bitcoins after you pay.
You can create a Bitcoin wallet in less than a minute by visiting: mywallet.sh
Once on the website, follow these steps:
- Under "Select a currency", make sure Bitcoin (BTC) is selected.
- (Optional but recommended) Turn on "Save to My Wallets" so your wallet is saved.
- Click "Next Step".
- Click "Next Step" again.
- Click "Create Wallet".
Your Bitcoin wallet is now created. You will see two important pieces of information:
- Bitcoin (BTC) Address – This is your public Bitcoin address. You will paste this into the LibertyX app so they can send your Bitcoins after you pay.
- Private Key – This works like the password to your wallet. Keep it completely private. Anyone with this key can access your Bitcoins.
If you enabled "Save to My Wallets", your wallet will be saved under the "My Wallets" section. You will also see options to back up your wallet by printing it or downloading it as an image or PDF.
Store your wallet information safely. If you lose your private key or address, there is no way to recover the wallet. Treat it as something extremely valuable.
3 Buying bitcoin
LibertyX is a private company and charges a 10% commission on your Bitcoin purchase. This fee is always paid by the customer. To calculate the total you must pay, simply multiply the amount of Bitcoin you want by 1.10. The result is the full amount you will have to pay, including the commission.
At this point, you have found a LibertyX location and created a Bitcoin wallet. Now it’s time to create your order:
- Sign up in the LibertyX app if you haven’t already.
- Go to "Find locations" and select your preferred location.
- Tap "Buy Bitcoin".
- Enter your Bitcoin address (created in Step 2).
- An Order Number will be generated.
After creating your order, go to the selected location to complete the payment.
- If it is an ATM: Follow the instructions on the screen. Enter your Order Number, make the payment, and you’re done.
- If it is a retailer: Go to the cashier and say that you have a LibertyX order to pay. Give them your Order Number and complete the payment.
After the payment is completed, LibertyX will send the Bitcoins to your address. To confirm the deposit, you can use our tool below: simply enter your Bitcoin address and click "Check Balance".
4 Make the payment
When it is time to pay for our service, you must send us the private key of the Bitcoin wallet you used with LibertyX. The private key gives access to the Bitcoin stored in that wallet so we can receive your payment.
To send us the private key, please contact us by clicking here and let us know that your payment is ready and that you would like to share your private key.
Bitcoin wallets are anonymous and disposable. They are not linked to your identity and can safely be used for a single transaction. By sharing the private key, you only give access to that specific wallet’s funds. You are not giving access to any personal information, bank accounts, or other data. If you want to buy Bitcoin again in the future, simply create a new wallet following the same instructions in Step 2.
